Pattern #1996 / Front

Pattern #1996

I have always wanted to create the perfect overlapping front closure vest and this one is fun and so easy to construct. Whether you use a striking fabric you find on one of your fabric excursions or a wonderful Batik from Java like I have for this one, you will be pleased with the fit and trimming look that it gives. The back on this design is a little different from any other I have developed. The drop point really pulls the front design together and Wow, people will love to see you coming and going. The closures for this vest are just simple ties from the seam in the side panel to the right side front. If you look close to the photo on the left, you will notice that I have put glass fish buttons I found in my travels as an embellishment to the three tie closures. Again, this vest is multi-sized by the use of expandable side panels while providing comfort of wear. The Batik from Java is a large long Batik where no two are alike in color, but are similar in design, so each garment is unique. (see batiks)
