Currently this is my only Jacket Pattern. It is a terrific design and can be constructed using any sewing machine to sashiko the Asian designs as shown above or constructed with your own fabrics for a creative patchwork look. Just follow the paths that are outlined for you in this easy to follow pattern. The sashiko designs above are not included with the pattern, but the exact authentic designs (Asian sashiko designs #1) can be purchased with the jacket pattern. You also can research sashiko designs at the library and develop your own patterns or maybe even develop patterns using Indian, Aztec or African block designs. Our sashiko design packages are a perfect start when first learning machine sashiko and they are authentic patterns which can be adapted in future garment.

The Jacket above is constructed using
"Dan River's" 6 oz. 100% Denim 59/60" wide, style #11550. This is a very soft denim for comfortable wear and is easy to use with any sewing machine. The sashiko design is completely machine sewn with any sewing machine using DMC #8 white perle cotton using my specially designed spool to fit it's large size. We also sell the Mettler 100% cotton quilting thread to be used with the denim fabric.

For machine sashiko instructions click here or on "
Sashiko?" in the menu bar. All instructions are included in the Jacket for the Nineties pattern #1994.

Women's Sizes 12-20 are included in the pattern.
